About Pat
As president of Chico Area Flyfishers for 9 years; I have now moved on to past president, as of Nov 2024. CAF, a fly-fishing club in Northern California, with over 250 families receiving our monthly newsletters; I now continue residing as an executive officer, which has been my classification for over 19 years. My job descriptions have been planning local fly-fishing outings for our club members; fundraising; and our numerous monthly meetings; eventually, our members asked me for more adventurous & exciting out of the country flyfishing trips; therefore, I did that!!! Fly fishing "hosted" Trips where I have previously experienced exciting fishing, clean, comfortable lodging, tasty dining experiences and friendly people. Soon after, with encouragement, by interested friends, I became a "licensed outfitter" adding more beautiful, exciting locations for other club members and friends.
Though I have been fishing all my life; it was about 21 years ago that I was blessed to have graduated to "fly fishing"! Graduated? I have never loved fishing like I have since I started "tying my own flies" and catching the most beautiful fish I have ever seen!
Oh, the fight from these fish jumping out of the water: it could be the beautifully colored dorado, amazing colored peacock bass, strong fighting rooster fish, jumping rainbow trout, seriously jumping largemouth bass and other amazingly, beautiful fish species. They're all extremely shocking to SUDDENLY, see that "EXPLOSION"; a fish launching out of the water; it's going AERIAL, the speed unmatched as if being shot from a fish launcher, shooting across the tops of the water with such an extraordinary force! How high? How large? Have you ever caught two on one line? Exciting!!!
I feel so blessed to have taken, so many wonderfully caring people on trips from Pyramid Lake, Nevada to Kamloops, Canada. Then, Alaska, Henrey's Lake, Idaho; and other destinations abroad such as New Zealand, Argentina and the Amazon, in Brazil, where we often land on the rivers or in small villages.
Our Mexico locations are to Cabo and Mazatlán; we travel from the airport winding our way into the hills to Lake Picacho, or La Ventana, Mexico.
Having fished the Amazon tributaries 6 times targeting peacock bass; I continually find fishing brings, new, EXCITING memories! I always think how amazing it is to see and feel the power from these ferocious fish! To see their powerful jumps; and feel their intense energy; and hear my reel screaming out of control; and... all that line, that was laying at my feet is now...GONE!!! Now, zipping out into the unknown waters... SHOCKING, the speed at which it all happened!!! Shocking, to see fish going AERIAL! Shocking, seeing it..landed!!! You feel like you're watching a National Geographic movie. Then you realize; "No, I'm in this one"!! This is reality; perhaps, reality at its FINEST!!!" I "can" breathe again!!!
Pat is on the Thomas & Thomas Pro-Staff and on Pro-staff of many other Fly-fishing Companies.
Pat was a "featured tyer" at the National fly-fishing show located in Pleasanton, "The Pleasanton Flyfishing Show", in 2025 and she's invited back for Feb 27, - March 1st, 2026.
Pat has been featured in the Bassmaster magazine where you must qualify with a bass over 10lbs. Her largemouth bass was actually, 14.11 lbs.; with a length of 25 inches. This is a Lake record for Picachos Lake, Mexico, through fly fishing. Pat's picture, holding this bass, hangs on the wall in the dining room, at the Angler's Inn lodge, Lake Picachos, Mexico.
She has landed a trophy rooster fish weighing, 75lbs with a fly she created and tied. She has landed trophy dorado weighing 55lbs. And all these fish were caught while flyfishing.
Pat just did "it" again!!! She caught "Walter" as reported on the Nevada State, Wildhorse Reservoir, Facebook webpage, by one of the bloggers. She didn't weigh or measure this lunker, rainbow trout. This beautiful trout laying on Pat's lap; while she was in her "Dave Scadden pontoon boat"; with a net under it; it's easy to see this is a BIG GIRL!!! Could it be the lake record? Without measurements and weights, there is no true conclusion. But check out the pictures and do some measurements yourself "for numbers:" and note this net, that was too small, yet used by 2-handed Brant Hansen, to net her for Pat. All photos of this amazing trout were taken by Brant Hansen...
The testimonials voiced by the fishermen around Pat, were visiting from Boise, Idaho; the Delta area of California, and Chico, CA., had shouted these words: "this is a fish of a lifetime!!!" Another said, "You can go home now!!"
Remember, this rainbow trout, is still out there for "you" to catch. Pat released her very alive as they all watched; and Brant videotaped her swimming away "like a bullet" he said!!
Traveling has been a passion of mine; and I enjoy sharing the "things that we have learned" through traveling:
Traveling with our own group ensures security with the people that surround us. It's amazing how you'll appreciate the availability of borrowing something you forgot or that broke. What broke? Lines, rods, reels, glasses, flies, charging cable, cash and the list goes on... We all look out for each other. Priceless camaraderie and new-found friendships!!!

Traveling has been a passion of mine; and I enjoy sharing the "things that we have learned" through traveling:
- A faster, easier way to travel through the airport.
- Booking airlines with nonstop flights; and, watching for the correct layover times needed for connection flights; especially, if it's your point of entry back into the United States. Customs can sometimes consume a great deal of time.
- baggage can take longer than usual as they get jammed in the bagage carousel
- Stuck on the tarmac waiting for your gate to open.
- planes can leave late due to arriving at the airport late due to weather and other such things.
- baggage can take longer than usual as they get jammed in the bagage carousel
- Sharing the most affective lines, rods, reels, suitcases and flies to use on each trip.
I have always loved playing sports: tennis, golfing and scuba diving have been long time passions. I am a certified search and recovery diver who's been fortunate to have scuba dove Fiji, Grand Cayman, ABC Islands and the list go on... Actually, swimming with the different fish has given me an insight on their actions during feeding, the habitats they prefer for feeding; the noises they can make and, how they react when scared or curious. Well, there are quite a few things we have learned while diving. We look forward to an opportunity to share them with you. I love sharing; and I love hearing stories from "your" experiences.
Thank you for your time!
Give me a call to book a trip or just have questions about these trips, please...Thanks...
Hope you like my 75 lb. Rooster....
